چکیده

Renewable energy is predicted to play a crucial role in the sector as transitioning from fossil fuels biofuels key achieving carbon neutrality. The comprehensive utilization of livestock manure and crop residues viable source can significant Ghana’s future system. This current study aims examine predict biofuel potential Ghana animal residues. biogas-biomethane determined using anaerobic digestion technology, whereas residues’ bioethanol assessed computational analytical approaches. findings demonstrate that biogas 237.72 normal million cubic meters (NMm3). highest manure-biogas per cattle (27.15 Nm3) pigs (18.15 Nm3), while least contribution chickens (1.80 Nm3). In addition, annual production 3.74 gigaliters (GL), maize (0.88 GL), yams (0.82 plantains (0.47 GL) had largest share annum. By 2100, has produce 1288.56 NMm3 manure-based which offset 13.88% liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) consumption. positively correlates with biomethane 901.99 NMm3. Furthermore, 91.85% 14.76 GL will be food provides critical information lawmakers planners strategies achieve security minimize ecological footprint an optimistic scenario.

World crop residues production and implications of its use as a biofuel.

Reducing and off-setting anthropogenic emissions of CO(2) and other greenhouse gases (GHGs) are important strategies of mitigating the greenhouse effect. Thus, the need for developing carbon (C) neutral and renewable sources of energy is more than ever before. Use of crop residue as a possible source of feedstock for bioenergy production must be critically and objectively assessed because of it...

Analyzing key constraints to biogas production from crop residues and manure in the EU—A spatially explicit model

This paper presents a spatially explicit method for making regional estimates of the potential for biogas production from crop residues and manure, accounting for key technical, biochemical, environmental and economic constraints. Methods for making such estimates are important as biofuels from agricultural residues are receiving increasing policy support from the EU and major biogas producers,...

Sustainable Biofuel Production From Water Hyacinth (Eicchornia Crassipes)

A major source of energy for our dynamic society is the burning of fossil fuels such as coal, petroleum and natural gas. These sources of energy have been found to have limited amounts available, and therefore are said to be depleting resources. Scientists are continuously looking to find alternatives to fossil fuels. One such alternative is using vegetable oils to make fuel. This is achieved b...

Sustainable intensification of crop production

Relevance Concerns about the environmental impact of farming has increasingly been the focus of discussions in the EU. Croplands, a primary land use in Europe, have a significant impact on the environment (soil, water bodies, global climate, local biodiversity and human health). The use of fertilisers and pesticides associated with conventional farming may lead to pollution and/or climate chang...

Biogas Production by Co-Digestion of Goat Manure with Three Crop Residues

Goat manure (GM) is an excellent raw material for anaerobic digestion because of its high total nitrogen content and fermentation stability. Several comparative assays were conducted on the anaerobic co-digestion of GM with three crop residues (CRs), namely, wheat straw (WS), corn stalks (CS) and rice straw (RS), under different mixing ratios. All digesters were implemented simultaneously under...
